Allright...a quck update. Finally got the roof in place.....the color scheme for the shingles isnt wokin quite yet...but thats an easy fix. After the shingled roof was in place I moved on to the flat portion of the roof. Not being able to see it, im assuming it is a tar roof. I first cut...

The Miracle Mat is a lifesaver...its one of the best things I ever bought for my scratchbuilding. More to come tonight...hopefully. I just found out I mis-cut the roof! Whoops! sign1

Yep Montana is home for me so im glad to be moving back! I fear bozeman is without many hobby stores, but ill be up in Helena plenty! Didnt know about all the railroad action goin on in Big Sky country....Thanks for the info!!! And thanks everyone for the well wishes on the job!

Ive recently accepted a great job in Bozeman MT....of course this means that im moving from Portland OR. The wife and I were discussing how we can move with the least amount of belongings..... Lets just say that my lobbying for the 4X8 layout was successfull......the couch may have to say...

As was said before most "simpler" kits are easily opened..... If its a box car and you can open the door you can get weight in quite easily. Metal wheels go a long way too if you dont have them allready!

Deano I whole heartedly agree. I should have used the word operating rather than modeling. Nobody on here has been critical of me or anyone in regards to their system. Please dont get me wrong. This was not a "Vent" thread, I just found as a new model railroader that DCC appeared to be the norm...

Hey DCC'ers Im toying with the idea of going DCC....Its becoming more appealing by the day! But before I take this leap I have one question. I would like to keep all my switching remote...and on my current 4X8 I have a number of atlas remote switches....are these possible to operate via DCC...

OK, take Three Is this what you were thinking or did I just make things worse? Im ok with having to block and isolate power if needed, I just dont know where I would. Also, I dont want to use the turntable as a routing station so this seems like my only option. My biggest two problems...
