    PROTO:87 vs. Regular "Standard" HO

Hello, again TL. Doing some more looking - FINE:HO seems to be referenced as "code 88" for wheels, which may be usable on standard HO trackwork (with some allowances,as mentioned by pgandw) - check this - http://www.branchline-trains.com/blueprint/parts/wheelsets.htm Maybe some more proto...

    PROTO:87 vs. Regular "Standard" HO

Josh - sounds like fun - but don't think my visually and dexterity-challenged bod could hold to the tolerances of Proto:87. Did you pick up any info sources on Fine:HO (NMRA S4.1)? Looks nearly as good, just (hopefully) not as finicky on the track standards (That's the difficult part !!!)...

    Need some window screen??

Dave, yeah, have some material that looks about like that. It's gift wrap ribbon, so not as large, but workable - don't know what the material is or how it reacts to Floquil or water-base paints. Have you tried coloring it ? Bob C.

Depot Buildings in Mt. Vernon, Ohio

Thanks for taking those shots, old stations (well maintained, too!) aren't easy to find. Though remodeled, the PRR is still exemplary of that company's standards, and most useful ! Hate to think of reproducing all that moulding in "N" or even "HO", though !...need a new lens for my magnifier ...

    Slash Railroad Sign

Mike, if my memory is correct (B&P carried on with CSX rules until adopting NORAC's book), this sign would have been preceeded at an appropriate distance by a sign with the speed of the restriction, with this sign at the beginning of the restricted area. Conrail would have had a yellow diamond...

    Slash Railroad Sign

Hi, Mikey...If I'm supposed to take a GUESS, they used to use signs something like that on the B&PRR (ex-CSX) to mark a speed restriction - called 'em "Firecrackers". Am I RIGHT - What did I WIN ??? BOb C.
