Be Careful Wrapping And Unwrapping Those Chritmas Presents

I applied for the same grant. All I needed was a vacuum chamber. All they send me was enough to buy a roll of Scotch Tape...

Be Careful Wrapping And Unwrapping Those Chritmas Presents

Don't know about you, but I seldom use a vacuum chamber to wrap my presents in. It makes breathing a bit difficult.

    Just checking

Well, so far this thread has only one page, but that thread, the one I linked to, had two. For a time though, only one was accessible. Now they both are, but I wanted to see if anyone else was having the same problem. Apparently they were.

    problems posting????

Yes, we are having problems with posting. It's mostly in going to the right page. Sometimes you have to hit the "refresh" or "reload" button to get there. The programmers have been notified and I'm hoping they're busy working on it.

Lynn, One more way to subscribe to a thread is to go to "additional options" below the composition window. There is a box there that you can use to add a subscription to that particular thread that you're posting to.

Just in case anyone wants more info, here's what Paul posted on AMR: Qube (David), should keep everyone updated there and either Mikey or myself will pass that on here.

    I Quit too

When I quite, I had to stop drinking beer and stop shooting pool. When I shot pool (I belonged to a billiard league at work), I always drank beer, and when I drank beer I wanted to smoke. I quit cold turkey over 40 years, and yes, about a year later I could go into a bar or a pool hall without...

    Power Supply

I don't think that a 250 volt fuse costs any more than a 100 volt, to be sure, they might be a bit cheaper than say a 50 volt one because they're more popular. We used to buy fuses in bulk for our systems and the power supplies we used to build. I'd always buy 250 volt fuses since I could then...

    Power Supply

Fuses are rated by max voltage and max current. While it's true that watts = volts x amps, these are maximum ratings and are independent of one another. One can use a 250 volt fuse on a 12 volt circuit, it's the current rating that matters here. One should always use a fuse that's somewhat above...

    Power Supply

To me these look like just power distribution points. Main power in, separate, fused power terminals out. As far as fuse ratings, the voltage isn't significant, that's the max voltage it can take. What is significant is the amp, or current rating. If you're running an accessory that normally...

    power

You can always add an external reversing switch. All you need is a DPDT (double pole, double throw) switch. I'll show you how to wire it up if you want. Running trains for eight hours a day will generate a bit of heat in the transformer so it's always best to use a power pack that's over-rated...
