neat project Tom looks like its going well, as for the lines get hold of some small bell type wire and strip off the inslation and use it for lines , the other option would thin styrene rods found some .025 by Evergreen you could heat and bend .
Tom I've been using mine for weeks now and I can say that it does great, thin sheets will cut with two or three passes and with the thicker two or three passes will score it for snapping.
CB&Q ,DR&GW,SP,SLSF,SPS and CGW just to name a few AT&SF would be a lot of hoppers, reefers ,tank cars , grain box cars , the best thing would be to get hold of a book on the Santa Fe.
John most of the time i do put it back in the bottle but my cleaner is stanless steel and has a air tight cover so if i know i'm going to be using it to soon i just let it sit.(unless i have a brain cramp and forget it)
John I use 96% and i leave the shell in for 10 to 15 min then check it and put it back in for more time if it needs if . the longest i soaked a shell was a Bachmann 50 ft reefer that I forgot I put it in the shell,(the timer will run for 30 min max.) was in the tank for over 2 weeks it was ok...
well they are incandescent lamps for shure. do the batteries face the same way in the holder if the same way they are 1.5V if end to end they would be 3V.
 welcome to the gauge and if you are running a loco that if frame grounded like older Athearn blue box locos you will have to flip the axles end for end .
Andrew the best thing i can think of would be brass bars with the ring on the out side made fron a thin piece of brass tubing soldered togather, or the other would be styrene shapes.
Don i get mine in mexico for less than 3$ a liter in the states you can get Everclear at a liquor store but don't know the price , another sorce would be a racing store might be cheeper.
Don mine is a home made affair as are most of my modeling tools it has a stanless body and i never recall that the alcohol getting hot but i do take every precaution with as any volitile stuff i use.
I've not had any factory paint on metal come off in the alchol but then its never in there more that 3 or 4 min at a time, that the best i can tell you. i do use it for stripping plastic shells though.
Don i use 96% aclohol in mine mixed with nothing WARNING but don't put painted objects in it unsee you want to strip them.:( the most i do is to remove the shells off locos.
