Hi Roland. Just thought I'd let you know that I have added a link to your web page on my Detailing page of RR link pages that are accessible via the link in my signature. Always glad to help out small specialised model railroad oriented businesses.
Thanks Jess. This, as in most photoshop projects, was where less is more. It is such a great picture, the composition, angle, everything... I'm sure that any professional photographer would be pleased with it. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
Just to show that photoshopping doesn't necessarily mean making drastic changes to the original picture, here is a photo that was posted in another thread by W8JY.
the original:
And the photoshopped:
All I did was to adjust the Gamma and the Brightness/Contrast a bit. I may be...
Thanks Jess. I did photo-shop it a bit, just changed to the gamma setting some and tweaked the brightness/contrast a bit, just to bring it to life a little more. This is the result:
Here is my newest wallpaper compliments of Jess W8JY from a photo he posted in the thread Amusing Observations. Used with his permission, nach. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
Perhaps this might answer your question. Draw (or copy) silhouettes of a diesel locomotive and pass them around to see if anyone can identify it. Chances are few will. They may not know what makes it go, but most everybody knows that a steam loco is a train.
I don't know about the future, but I have heard that currently a negative is required to be entered into evidence for a photo to be admissable. As far as doctoring negatives, as technology advances there are always new techniques to determine if they have been tampered with. I doubt that photos...
It's interesting that when digital photography came on the scene many people said that it was the end of "film". However that proved not to be the case as digital photos are not admissible in a court of law as they can be altered to show anything that the photographer wished. So film photos with...
Jess, I was just reading the post about what people had for wallpaper on their computer screens and when I saw your pictures I thought that they were perfect! So with your permission to I would like use the second one for my wallpaper.
Don't be too surprised Rob, I've heard that 30% of the population can't find the Pacific Ocean on a map.   It's amazing how many (common) things that so many people don't know.
I'm a month late and more than a dollar short, but I didn't see a winner announced so here is my entry.
It isn't as classy as Ron's, but if you've ever traveled the country by car you will know it at a glance. It isn't from any prototype, but it could fit on most any layout. I have the specs if...
Hi Patrick. Welcome to the Gauge.
To answer your question I have attached a diagram that (hopefully) will help you.
These are the two types of dual color diodes you will run into. the one on the left will only have two leads coming out of it. You will need a double pole double throw...
To be honest I marked once a week. Used to be daily but I spent a tour in the hospital for a month and more which kinda knocked me off my regular schedule. I promise to do better though.
You see an unusual building and wonder, "How can I make that in N?"
You're watching a baseball game on TV, you hear a diesel horn in the background and miss a double play because you were hoping to catch a glance of the train. :nope: :mrgreen:
Wow! What a layout. Now I know what $10,000 buys.:lol:
The more I look at the pictures the more familiar they look. Wasn't this layout featured in MR or somewhere else?
Now I feel bad complaining about not having enough space when I have a whole (albeit a small) room when he has packed so much into such a small area. Most impressive!
