    Download site question

Does anyone have any experience with a site called www.filestube.com? I was googling paper ship models, and their site offers a free download of the USS Iowa battleship BB61. They also had, among other things, a free download of the movie "Battleship", which is in theaters now, so I am...

    USS Iowa Saved!

So Zathros, what ship was this? Sounds vaguely familar, but Google didn't provide any useful data.

    USS Iowa Saved!

If one must scrap a historic ship, the next best thing is the artificial reef thing. Anyone see the documentary about sinking the USS Oriskany? Pretty neat.

    Memphis Belle

I haven't built my B-17 yet, still wrapped up in my Buran Grasshopper project, built on my list. I want to try making clear cockpit glass windows and an interior. I've built a couple of plastic B-17s over the years, and I think it's one of the coolest aircraft of WWII. IMHO, of course.

I have a B-17 download from Fiddlers Green, it is a type G. My file is listed as Boeing B-17. I'm not sure exactly what mods are from type F to G, if you do maybe you could convert it? The FG model has Olive drab, white and yellow Coast Guard rescue versions. The nose arts and unit insignias...

Controller Has 737 In His Garage (Sort Of)

My wife complains about all my Christmas yard decorations in the garage. No way in H*** she'd give up her car park space for something like that.

    Mothers' day

My birth mother died when I was 4, so I never really knew her. Fortunately my foster parents are alive and have always been there for me. They travel a lot, but are now home for the summer. We went to see them today, still hard to believe they are now 78 years old. Reminds me how old I'm...

    BSG Chariot by Revell Fan

I thought Crazy glue (cyanoacrylate) was toxic? Everyone seems scared of the stuff nowadays. My boss got a chunk of her ear cut during a haircut, and the emergency room used some kind of egg-protein based superglue.

    New Photo Collection

Very nice site, well organized. You say not to be too impressed by the super models, but it's hard not to be. Most are way beyond my modest skill level.

Business Names (or, how paper models can get you into trouble)

I remember reading many years ago about a guy whose last name was Wheaties. He had a hot dog stand which he called "Wheaties hot dogs" or something like that. General Mills got wind and sued him for using their name. The judge determined that the hot dog cart was named Wheaties before the...

    Gaswagen (Gas Van)

I'm a fan of Real Space myself, although I do have a download of the Bismarck waiting for me. I guess I would say the difference is that the Gasvan wasn't a strategic military vehicle, but used purely for murder of the innocent. I would also venture that the vast majority of German combatants...
