    A build of Ken West's X-15A-2....

I don't recall sending any book. I built an X-20 once. Would love to see a card model of on designed to current standards....

    A321-111 in Air France livery

Thanks for the kind words. I cannot take credit for the livery; I have trouble designing lunch, let alone an actual model. The basic model was designed by Julius, but John enlarged it and super-detailed it with accurate panel lines, cargo and cabin doors, warning and instruction placards, etc...

    A build of Ken West's X-15A-2....

Thanks for the kind words. And the four nozzle locations are offset from center; instead of being at 12, 3, 6 and 9 (if you're thinking the fuselage radius as if it were a clock) they are closer to 1, 4, 7 and 10. In looking at photos of X-15s, that's the quickest way to discern between the real...

    Millennium Falcon

Speaking of "Star Wars"..... This is my build of Shunichi Makino's Millennium Falcon. It is a well-designed kit and a relatively easy. I shrunk the original model to 80 percent and it works out to about 1/96th scale, a good scale fore space modeling. I followed the clear instructions, but...

    A321-111 in Air France livery

This is my build of John Bowden's excellent repaint (and rescaling, extensive modification and accurization...) of Julius Perdana's Airbus A321-111 in Air France livery. The redrawn nose by Matthew Herbert is a great improvement over the original offering, too. At 1/72nd scale, it builds into an...

    A build of Ken West's X-15A-2....

Haven't posted here in a looong time so I figured I'd jump back in with my most recent build, Ken West's excellent X-15A-2. The model hit the market in 2009 and I put off building it forever because while the X-15 may well be my favorite airplane, I've never been a fan of the 'A-2. The 'A-2 was...

Great work! Scratchbuilding those pads is quite a feat of design and modeling.

New project from UHU02: Space Station V

Are there a link to Uhu02's build thread? I can't seem to find it.....

Any build threads for uhu02's Aries 1B?

I can do the plumbing out of paper. It is making 72 nozzles that seems daunting. I hate repetitive work. On the "real" vehicle, I always wondered why they would have so many. More things to go wrong.

Any build threads for uhu02's Aries 1B?

You're too kind. The only thing I really find daunting are all those little nozzles on the four engines. They never made sense to me, anyway. Too much plumbing.

Any build threads for uhu02's Aries 1B?

I sent Uhu02 a PM but so far I've not heard anything back. I did run his instruction manual through the Google translator and things are slightly clearer, given the limitations of such online translation devices. Still trying to decide whether to build it as-is or enlarge it 104 percent to...

Any build threads for uhu02's Aries 1B?

I don't know about cajones, but there are some build issues I need to think through before I do it. I want to build a "gear down" version so I need to figure out some way to strengthen the landing legs so it'll stand up without the clear stand that uhu02 shows. I think there are also some ways...

Any build threads for uhu02's Aries 1B?

I've done a cursory search of the Tubes of the Internets, unsuccessfully trying to find any build threads for uhu02's Aries 1B. Is anybody aware of one? I've downloaded the photos of uhu02's build of his model, but since his descriptions/instructions are in Japanese, their meanings elude me...

    2010: Space Station V

I've no doubt it builds into a relatively sturdy model. I was just thinking of some way to perhaps add some rigidity -- especially if I enlarge the model.

    Scale of Uhu02's Aries 1B?

Thanks. I suppose 1/144th scale makes sense since that is a fairly common "space" scale. I'd want to enlarge it to 1/96th scale, though....

    Scale of Uhu02's Aries 1B?

Title thread says it all: Anyone know the scale of Uhu02's Aries 1B from 2001: A Space Odyssey?

    2010: Space Station V

Looks like a great model; I've downloaded it and may just give it a shot. Anybody have any idea what scale it is? One thing that has struck me about construction is that maybe model rocket tubes could be used for the hub parts. If done right, it might add some rigidity. I'm also wondering about...
