    On3 locomotive engine shops

Zathros, when the locomotive weighs three pounds, it’s easy to zoom in on the details. At some point I’ll get up the courage to start to paint it. #1 son got me this HO standard gauge locomotive, and I tested the painting techniques, and likely the paint scheme I’m likely to use.

Got the subroadbed down for the Southern Staging all the way down the back aisle. Will need to ad some bracing, but I have established the grade needed to clear the bracing under the river. I can match that grade, so it will be easier to do the subroadbed on the other aisle, most of the...

Putting in the plywood for my Southern Staging. Dialed it back some from four tracks on the return loop to three, to minimize clearance issues under Harlow. It I’d going to be a bear to lay track with minimal clearance anyway, s keeping it simpler will help. I had thought with the...

With Harlow now being in the middle of my RR, instead of at the far end, half my log trains will roll through downtown Harlow, which will be weird.

The wife had a medical conference last weekend, so I had some un supervised time, with no pressing work to do on the farm; so I took some time to work on my layout. I have extended some sub roadbed into the Southern Staging area. I wired up the track from the Southern main in Harlow, which...

Zathros, the DGCC&WRR will be 52 years old this Christmas, although it took a couple years to get that name, but most stuff gets rebuilt and reused, I don't throw out much.

Have to put a different motor in #2, the shaft is a tad high, and when changing from reverse to forward it lifts the rear drivers enough to derail on a curve. worked fine on the work bench, but not on the layout.

The "Original" Kittom Lumber Company. Part #2

Tom, I found a mostly complete scratchbuilt Twetsee hopper car. Somewhere I have lumber samples to more easily cut the needed wood on my tablesaw. This is a tad larger than the cars I’m building in On3; do you want this?

Got it together, will need to get a different motor soulotion. On straight test track it sores fine, but on curved track , changing from reverse to forward the rear drivers lift enough to Painted the new foundation for the Srtong and Perry sawmill.

Working on extending the Southern Feeder down a round on the helix to the Southern Staging yard. The Southern Main through Harlow makes a return loop, and do will the Southern Staging . So northbound and Southbound Southern trains can come and go through my layout.

    # 1 son bought this for my birthday. Am using it to replace my old # 2 an AHM model of an identical locomotive. This fancy paint job has taken me more than a month so far, but it is going together, I just need to wire the tender, build a wood rack, fill it with wood to hide the big...

I have a big fleet of MDC shorty flats for log cars, a slew of them I have acquired over the years, a bunch from Dr. Tom’s C&S, via the abandoned logging operations at the club, and a number I inherited from John Patterson, also via the folded club operations. I’ve always loved the size of...

Tom, when the school year is over , you should come over to the farm, and I can give you a tutorial on hinge building. Funny I thought I’d have more time to play when the kids grew up.

Still need to do six more pairs of those hinges for the northern end of the Crooked Creek shops, and four pairs to repair the doors on the fine scale miniatures backwoods engine house in. I think I used this style hinge first on my Big Steam Donky’s roof wings.
