Mystery Item -or- I don't know what this is!

I think we have a winner. Doctorwayne just made me realize that. It does look very much like the same thing they use to lift those heavy circles of steel off the street.

    What happened with P2k.

Well, I looked through what they have in P2k and all I found was mostly the 50's/transition era type car's to earlier. Like the 10K gal. tanks, ER. war hoppers, and as 50' single door box cars like IAIS said. The only thing modern that I ever found from P2K was these hopper's, everything else...

    KCS markings?

Yea, there was something going on about KCS lost several locomotives up in the northwest either with BNSF or MRL and sense they couldn't be found one of the companies leased their power to KCS in exchange. SO I heard but I can't be sure this is the story.

Mystery Item -or- I don't know what this is!

lmao Cid! Na 60103 I don't think it would have been used for that. I have a couple railroad track bar's that was used for moving track by hand and buddy are they heavy! That thing there is to small and short for lifting such weight. I could be wrong but that's just my $.02.

    What happened with P2k.

What happened with Proto 2000? I've been looking up and down to find some PS2CD/4750 Cubic Foot Rib Sided 3-Bay Covered Hopper kit's and I can't find any. Not even at Walthers.com I remember seeing a lot of them at shows and even special built a couple of them for one of our club...

    Freight Cars Question

Well, I am fixing to under go another big change before to long when the cash comes around. I'm swapping all my trucks and wheels (kato roller bearing, P2k) to Proto 87 scale wheels and sprung trucks. Then all my locomotive wheels are also going to be converted over to Proto 87 scale wheels...

Mystery Item -or- I don't know what this is!

I agree with Russ. After remembering watching some video's of trollies and such up north some of them use a bar simular to that one to switch the points on a turnout. The head would be somewhat fairly thin to push inbetween the point and stock rail then levered like a crow bar sideways throwing...

    Sid Meyer's Railroads!

In that case is anyone playing Microsoft's Train Simulator? I bought it a long time ago but had to take it back because the computer I had at the time wouldn't support it. I thought about buying it again maybe even with the locomotive control station. I have been coming across sites that have...

    Flex-Track: MP vs. Atlas

Your best bet. Stay away from everything Model Power. It's junk. If their flex track is anything like their Power-Loc sectional track then it's steel rail rather than nickel silver. Very prone to rusting and poor electrical pickup. Yes Atlas is the better way to go.

    To all moderator

I simply copy and pasted that big oval at the top of the site and printed it to the same size then laminated it my self with a pin to stick on my club vest while I was at the Houston show last year. I ended up meeting a couple of the guy's. Worked out pretty well.

    Layout Support

Now seeing this in the N scale forum. That idea would be to heavy duty for such a layout as our's is HO. Ol' dummy me.

    Layout Support

Our club use's steel leg's on our layout. Each module has 4 (i'm guessing) 3"? long cut piece's of "C" channel steel. A large nut is welded sideway's to the channel and the channel has two holes drilled for bolt's to be attached to the module corner. The nut is welded at the lowest end so that...

I'm all diesel but I don't own any F unit's or E unit's to that matter. Pretty much anything with a round face I don't have. :) All modern. Sorry.

Transition Era in NE/ Shelf Layout/Sergent/W/A throttle

I've gotta say. Gotta love those Sergent coupler's. I replaced all my equipment from KD's to Sergent's. It's fun just coupling and uncoupling even though I haven't run anything on track yet. Gotta wait till the next show.

    Union Pacific is hiring!

Yea, I wouldn't mind everything except watching over 70 people and office work. I'm more of the "hand's on" type of guy. I bet that position makes at least $100k a year or better.

    Help choosing a small switcher.....

I would go with Iron Horse on the MP15DC I own two from Atlas in CSX with sound but no DCC. I am very pleased with them. A bit pricey but they are well worth every penny.
