The RPF has a thread like this, and hey- I guess this is another relevant hobby to a lot, especially in this political climate lately (luckily up here in Canada we're not suffering too much of that yet).
Anyone else here shoot?

Ruger Mini-30 with a SpectreDR- has since been replaced by an Aimpoint T1. I run Promag mags with it, and they're garbage. The Ruger magazine runs flawlessly, though.

That rail system didn't modify the gun any, but it did horrify a lot of purists. I took it off and gave the rifle to the girlfriend as an SHTF gun.
 
Rifles.

Nice rifles, but I am particularly fond of my slow loading single shot 50 caliber Hawkens, 250 pyrodex grain sabot shot. but I do make my own lead balls as well. Very accurate to 300 meters without scope and it does have adjustable sights.sign1

By the way, when you mentioned gunnies, some of the U.S. Marines may respond to your query, since a senior NCO is considered a Gunnie.

I am partial to my Winchester Model 94, 30-30. It looks like business, it will take care of business, and you would be surprised how fast the lever action is. If people were smart, they would take their very capable weapons and put some wood on them and make them sleepers. Get away from the "look" that seems to offend those who do not understand weapons. :)

I have a Ruger 10/22. A friend of mine working at Ruger at the time made the gun for me, purchased it, then sold it to me. It is really pretty. I should have bought off the shelf though, as this one shorts at 11:00 O'clock. I may pop the barrel and get another one. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears. That gun would be illegal in Connecticut because of the clip, though the laws changed recently so who knows what's going on. You can however use the other clip, show in the picture below, which is also less prone to jamming. The little crank that you used to be able to mount to make it fire like a machine gun is no longer available, but that would take all off 10 minutes to make. Not that I want one.

That's neat as hell! Can see the use for places with a mag cap limit, up here we're allowed to have as many as we want in a rimfire cartridge thankfully.
I'd like a 10-22, they seem like neat little rigs.
Guns aren't a big deal up here right now, thankfully, so I can get away with strapping evil looking plastic bits to my rifles. :)
 
I like that clip because it uses stock Ruger quality clips and just binds them together. I have seen too many other ones jam up. Not good. These are nice little rifles. Cheap to shoot too. They don't make hardly any noise, and it beats paying for the 30-30 rounds my Winchester 94 uses.
