Would you play a game with paper miniatures?

I do to some extent already do that I have been reading up on a couple of miniature war games that use paper structures and green army men
 
I've always wanted to build a Warhammer 40k paper vehicle army, but I've never been a big fan of stand ups or markers for figures so I would more then likely continue to use the Plastic or Pewter for the figures.
 
Slowly introducing my Gen-2 nieces and nephews to the magic and imagination of paper toys, the boys love building city blocks for Kaiju beasties to run wild and the girls love having paper castles and other princess-related items made available 'on-demand' !

I say Gen-2 as their moms and dads were the first generation I introduced to paper toys.
 
We used to play star fleet battles with our own models, as we got tired of buying the plastic ones.......seems the klingons always had fewer models tho as we always destroyed those. They were pretty cheesy looking back at it, but this was in 1980...
 
I used to play warhammer a lot at my old board games club, the idea of paper models into the mix sounds awesome

I tend to find a lot of the 'licensed' miniatures a bit pricey, WH & WH40K amongst others, so always scour the dollar stores for playsets compatible 15 & 25mm games. Also there's many 1/72 scale plastic 'model' figures available online that work well in gaming too, most are WWI or WWII but many other historical & fantasy/Sci-Fi ranges are out there.

Nothing beats paper buildings and related scenery for cost and nearly limitless customization as tabletop games can become quite the investment.
 
I think all paper is superior to plastic.

-Cheaper, which makes it more accessible to new players.
-Easier to create your own units/terrain.
-Less dangerous. Dropping a fully painted $80 unit on the floor, and breaking it apart, is a big deal. A paper unit would probably fare a lot better (I'm clumsy, so this is an important point ;)

You know, some games use tokens only (like Commander Rommel, one I like for example), and it looks like a good idea to substitute them for paper models.

And to be honest I found this site after checking the image of the Battlestar Galactica board game with a Papercraft Battlestar, so when I have room (my house is still being built) I problably will make it.

i have played warhammer 40k i made a few tanks and other warhammer vehicles and other robots and stuff but i could tell the older players dident like the fact that i dident buy my vehicles i guess because i was asked to not play with my paper model lol oh well
 
Much depends on the quality of the model. Mine, I'm told, look better than the originals :P
Never ever had someone smirking at my paper models. To say the truth they never knew till I told them :)

Maybe they fear the gaming police stopping them playing with non licensed props and banning them for life.A bit like how Disney would react to an ice cream van with Mickey Mouse on it.
