Good Morning !! (And how good it is!)
The Dr. came in after we left the hospital last night, and talked with Chris. As a result of the XRays that were done late yesterday he has a 90% restore of the lung and air evacuation of the space between the chest wall and lung. (As I understand it.) Chris was suppose to take his last final today, (1st yr of Jr. College), but I'm going to go by the school and talk with them about makeup. Probably will get an incomplete until he makes up the final, which is fine. Then stop by the hospital on my way to work.
I sure have learned alot about collapsed lungs! I thought it was a primarily a result of trama, or injury. But, apparently it is quite common for men between the ages of 20 and 44, especially if they are thin. (Chris is 6'2, weighs 170). That a cyst or bleb on the lung may rupture causing air to leak into the chest cavity. I thought too that it may have been a result of being in that "pit" area of the concert. But both he and his gf insist that they were not in the "mosh pit" where all the bumping goes on. That they were concerned about her and all the groping that goes on, and stayed outside of it. So I don't really know for sure, cause later he said he did get forced into it a couple of times, and did receive a "minor" blow to the chest. So who knows?? Im just thankful that when he had the attack on the way home while driving, he didn't get in an accident, or the attack didn't happen during the concert. It was a hot day and the gf almost fainted twice due to the heat, it was around the high 90's, and apparently there were "thousands" of people at this place.
Certainly brings back to reality very quickly, how EVERY day is a GIFT, and how quickly we seem to forget.
Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes, I'm know it helped!!!!
I REALLY appreciate all the sincere consideration you have all expressed it really helps, I've shared it with Chris, he was somewhat overwhelmed, and surprised. Thanks guys !!!!
