Here is some pictures with some rail cars and trucks to bring it life a little bit more for now

Another great looking building Trucklover. I also really like the weathering job on that Mack!:thumb:
Looks good, Josh, although I didn't recognise it at first. Your all-painted version is typical of how many of these buildings look nowadays, with both the concrete "framing" and the brick curtain walls painted. Originally, the brickwork was left natural, as was the concrete, although some examples did paint the concrete for a more uniform colour and, perhaps, protection from the elements. My version (two kits bashed together) was intended to represent a totally unpainted one, but my "concrete" colour doesn't really look like concrete, so I've decided that it's been painted.

yeah, on my layout, I had originally intended to use George Roberts Printing instead of American Hardware Supply. I might swap them out for a night to see what it would have been like (although my scenery is not set up for that). I'd probably have more parking space!
Wayne that building Loooks AWESOME!!!! I wanted to bash 2 buildings together but i just couldnt see how it would be possible to do it with the 2 diffrent sized walls

I was thinking of doing the bricks and concrete frame work diffrent colors like yours but as you mentioned most more modern buildings these days are just all one uniform color and since im doing the Modern Era, i figured it would be best as all one color.
I do really like the way you did yours, it makes it look and stand out better and you did an AWESOME job oon weathering the whole building :thumb: :thumb: :mrgreen: :thumb:

Thanks, Josh. As you can see, I had to make mine fit onto an oddly-shaped building lot. I had a few pieces left over from that kitbash, so I took one of these (Walthers "Stamping Plant"):
and combined it with the George Roberts leftovers to make this:
All of the walls were used on the three sides that are visible, then I made the unseen back, and the roof and loading dock from .060" sheet styrene. This building doesn't get photographed too much, except as a background in other shots, since it's on the unfinished outskirts of town. The wall from the printing plant is on the left, in the last shot.

I love that GIANT building!!!! I just made a building of my own that size, tad bit shorter but i think mine is a little bit wider then yours. I just bashed 2 Stamping Plants together and basically made it double long x 1.5 times wider then the original building plans. Its a MASSIVE building in my opinion, im going to post some pics later on of it.
I like the idea of building a rear wall out of styrene cuz that wont be seen anyhow and it gives you more to make the building bigger. My roof needs a bit of work on my building, i have to make an entire front half of the roof lol, there just wasnt enough in the 2 kits to house the whole building.

A lot of the Walthers structures are great for kitbashing. Check out plastic suppliers in the Yellow Pages for sheet styrene. You should be able to get a 4'x8' sheet of .060" styrene for twenty bucks or so. You don't need a truck to carry it home, either, as they'll roll it up, then tape it, for easy carrying. :thumb:

Sweet!!!! Thanks for the tip Wayne about the sheet Plastic, theres a place RIGHT BY MY HOUSE in the industrial complex that makes plastic PVC pipes and other plastic stuff so they might have sheets too :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
