Hi guys. a few years ago (around 2016) i let you know that my wife has a cyst inside of her pancreas . its been quite a few years going on with her. first biopsy done showed that some cells showed that it"might" be the very aggressive cancer and it was at less 1 cm size. forward to 2018 she had a scan done at it had grown to 2.3 cm. she was having more and more pain and pancreatitis bouts. October of last year had another scan.. had grown to 3 cm . she started to loose weight and had problems eating . her new doc was getting worried and set up a appointment with a new surgeon ( not the quack from back in 2016) for him to see her. i got her there in January and he wanted to put her into the hospital THAT day to start testing. my wife has bad p.t.s.d. , anxiety, and other problems and wanted to wait till that Thursday to give him her answer. that was a Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday she took extra of her morning celexa. both times taken to our local hospital only to be released within 2 hours. Thusrday morning she took 13 pills.. i called state police and rescue... they took her to the major hospital for this time. i called the surgeon she saw and told him what was going on and to see if he could do anything since she was at the hospital where her works.. few hours later i get a call from the e.r. saying that he had her admitted right away. this was 4 weeks ago. she was in a lot of pain and had lost weight from 200 to 130 lbs. they did a ct scan and also a M.R.C.P. scan. it had grown to 4 cm. it IS the aggressive cancer. he was gonna take out her panaceas but upon doing a lung test was found out that she would not survive the operation. her only options are chemo and radiation. but we found out that she cant do chemo now either due to her system being too weak. she goes for her 1st radiation treatment tomorrow. and that has changed from first it was goning to be 6 weeks worth, then it was changed to 5 weeks. it's now down to only 2 weeks worth that they are going to do . her blood work shows the markers of the cancer through it. i'm try to build to keep my mind off stuff but its kind of hard to do. we havent been told on how long she has and i get the idea they dont want to say anything in front of her because of her state of mind. she does know its the bad stuff. i have a meeting with the hospital and doctors tomorrow to find out on what and where we go from here. been just holding off on posting anything till i know for sure what is what. you are all great people here and i just needed to let you know if i vanish for a while..just keep plugging at it guys and know that i'm gonna do the same

I'm walking that same path. It is tough. I know you are full of worry, anger, and fear. Each day reflect on the day then release it all. The next day get up and get right back at it. Give her all the love you have because she needs you. You don't have the answers and you can't make it go away, but you can be there with her every day and give her your love and strength.

I also add all my best wishes and prayers to you and your wife. I had to live through this as well, twice and understand what you two are going through!

I don't think they would do that if they didn't have some hope. Still praying for you two. ;)

thanks to all of you. she had her second treatment today and is feeling sick from it. we were told that it might do that. her lypaste test this morning was 93 and its be in the 20's to 40's . when she had the pancreatitis flare ups it would be off the scale. with the bland diet and other things they have done are working so far.

18 years ago my wife suffered congestive heart failure. We were told that she would require either a complete heart transplant, which would be challenging to find the right donor, or at the least, the replacement of several valves. If we were lucky enough for the latter, we'd have to choose between one that would give her only a few years, but a good quality of life, or a different type that would impede her considerably and be uncomfortable, but last twice as long.

I share that only because, 18 years later, she is going strong and required neither. We were lucky enough to stumble into a then experimental treatment that saved her life and preserved the quality. I do still remember the obsessive helplessness I experienced, and even the sense of loneliness, in dealing with this situation.

You are not alone.

You need to know that people can bear the weight you now have to carry and that there are sometimes scientifically driven miracles. I experienced one. There is hope, even now, and I wanted you to believe that.

PM me if you ever need to talk.

The DC, thank you for the reach out. i'm very happy that your wife is still going strong and still with you. even though Deb says that she wants to give up she's still fighting to stay and do the treatments. she is stronger than she thinks she is even though through out her life others have told her she isn't. i keep telling her shes gonna stay for a long time and keep me in line..she still smiles at that. things might work out to the good or they might not. i keep a positive outlook to it all. we never know when the time comes and if it does..it does.. if not, all the better. i live for today and try not to think what tomorrow might bring. one never knows. but she is still here, she's fighting to stay ( even though she says she doesn't ), but i know better. again, i am happy for you and your wife, and i am happy for mine and always will be no matter what.

After I get an MRI, or CATscan, I have a few days of PTSD, until all the vibes they put in are processed out. It's a real thing to go thru, not comfortable. I hope that you are supported and that these things sort out. Best wishes for your wife.
