Next I wanted to revisit the main body (the gun platform) of the Berzerk. Its a bit to one dimensional for my liking. I'm going to try and kick it up a notch or two

I've done a piss poor job of explaining what I did here. Let me do a little back stepping. I started by taking the original part and carved out the lower gun ports to one large opening.
I then printed another copy of the same part and started surgically cutting up the new part, boxing out the individual lower gun bays .

Now that the parts are built I can put the parts together
Here you can see where the base of the upper turret platform shows through the outer skin and the individual bays of the lower platform fit into the inner part.
Now we have some decent dimension to the part.

You got some really NICE GREEBLES going on here!!

- One... Learn the pierce method of cutting circles... ie: use a #11 exacto (or similar) and pierce the outer diameter of the circle holding the blade at approx 45º... don't pull the blade let it "Pierce" the card and it will cut a slot for you... then move the blade to the end of the slot just cut and do again... continue piercing towards you and rotating the card away from you... it will give you an almost perfect circle!
- Two... get some various sized dowels short lengths about 5-6" in length...get some various grades of sandpaper starting at 120 grit, up to as fine as you wand ( they make variety packs)... Cut a strip off the end of the sheet the length of your dowel...mark a line on the dowel down the length, starting at the line roll the "sandpaper" around the dowel till it meets itself, ( with the grit inside the roll ) mark the back of it where it meets itself, and cut it at his line...glue it to the dowel with the grit out... you can now use it to "Clean-up" the circles that you cut getting rid of the "shreads" from the back and smoothing it!

That's insane! You are a much much more patient man then me. I'm going to cheat
It is also a matter of finances. I figured, since I cannot afford to purchase the turrets, I would figure out a way to make them. Then again that is why I got into paper/cardstock model building in the first place.
I mean this next statement with NO malice what so even and complete admiration, Some of you guys are totally sick and demented. Those paper turrets above by RB are wicked cool. Even if I had those parts I don't have the skill to fold and build something that small. Hat tip to you. Amazing work. Now I'll show you how people like myself with no skills build the turrets.
I forget where I got these but its a custom parts kit I found on eBay for 1/700 scale Japanese ships. There is a lot of detail in these parts and I feel they will pass for futuristic space weapons. Pic 2 will be the top turrets and those identified in pic 3 will be the lower mid-section turrets.
The end results make me smile.

@dirkpitt289 Thank you! The turrets that I made are just layered pieces of cardstock. I also do not take offence to you not attempting the same. Hell, there are many model builders out there that are far better than I am an that could (would) have done a much better job than I did.
There is nothing wrong with using what works best for you. The turrets that you used look GREAT! That was a really good find as well. You are doing a FANTASTIC JOB on this model! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! I am looking forward to seeing how this turns out!
