Phoenix, AZ.
Any one know of a appraiser in the Phoenix, AZ. area. Could be from out of state too I guess. I have a friend that lost her dad. He was a collector of HO trains. There is lots brass and lots of rolling stock. I have not seen this yet, but I don't have a feel for HO equipment, so I am looking to get it appraised.
This is a very large collection, fills a 10x10 room. Boxes and more boxes full of HO goodies some never opened.
Thanks in advance.

Canada, eh?
My condolences to your friend on her loss.

A good hobby shop should be able to appraise the trains if she wishes to sell them through the store, but this does require some trust on the part of your friend. The hobby shop where I deal specialises in buying the stock of defunct hobby dealers and also estates: one of their recent acquisitions was an estate where the HO trains and related paraphernalia were valued in excess of $100,000.00. Too bad she's not nearby, as I would rate this operator as very trustworthy.
She could try posting pictures and descriptions here, but that would likely be a very time-consuming process, with no guarantee of results for everything.
