Locked in and looking for a building hobby

Hi Francis, Welcome fellow UK resident! Revell-Fan's links are the place to go. Personally, I would go to Canon Creative Park first and choose something from the extensive collection on there. They have a good range of different subjects (including architecture) and levels complexity. The...

Hey guys and gals, I've been away predominantly working on a house extension so I haven't had a lot of spare time. I started this model a long time ago and I thought I'd finish her off. Seems a little fitting given the current pandemic situation and I now have quite a bit more time at home...

    Large Rolls-Royce Wraith.

Hey xaero, I think many of us use creative hobbies like this to quiet the mind from the ups and downs in life. I sincerely hope you and your family have a great Christmas and 2020 brings positive treatment for your son. All the best. Steve

In memory of Fabrizio Prudenziati - Zio Prudenzio

Thanks Sergio! They sure are tricky, but very enjoyable models. Perhaps I may do a couple more monoplanes then move on to biplane. The Albatross is one of my favourites of that era. Perhaps that will also be my first ww1 plane too...

In memory of Fabrizio Prudenziati - Zio Prudenzio

Here's my tribute. I thought it fitting to be an Italian plane. My first attempt at a scale paper model.... I thought it would be relatively straight forward given it's a single sheet of A4. Wrong! I made quite a few errors including getting the underside of the wings wet! Never mind. It was a...

    U-Don's U-Boot typ VII C

Thank you all. It is the ultimate pleasure. I had fun building it, but also learnt so much creating the historical representation. This, for me is the real kick. Learning and discovering the human stories behind the object. Not just the vanilla facts, but digging that bit deeper to understand...

YouTube Video Interview about paper/cardstock models while I was in Poland

A week to build some of those models! That is very impressive. Especially as they are such high quality. Kudos. Claphands Whomever built that Star destroyer need a medal too. They must have some big shelves in their house! :surprise:

    U-Don's U-Boot typ VII C

Thanks DC. U-don did a great job on the design. I had to do very little extra detail. Most of my effort went into painting, research and covering my mistakes. ;) I highly recommend anyone giving it a go. It's a real joy to put together.

    U-Don's U-Boot typ VII C

I'm really, really pleased. I offered this model to the Royal Naval Patrol Service museum in the Sparrow's Nest at Lowestoft as a donation. I didn't really expect them to want it, but they were keen to have it! They are looking to build up their anti-submarine section. Royal Naval Patrol...

    Microbe Obliterator (M-O) WALL-E

Just a quick bit of fun before I embark on something a little more labour intensive. Found this on Paper-Replika whilst trawling around looking for inspiration for my next build. Paper-Replika M-O model (WALL-E) I liked this little character from the film and it didn't look to difficult being...

Top work. Tubes! Arghhhh! You've really done a splendid job of those. Getting uniform cylinder shapes is so much harder than you would expect. (Well it is for me.) Great work. Claphands

    U-Don's U-Boot typ VII C

Thanks all. Really appreciate the kind words. It's taken me quite a long time. Combination of learning new medium techniques and family commitments. I've covered a lot of errors and rookie skill by painting the whole thing. This enabled me to create a specific historical model but added to...
