    Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

There is one little number from Chitty2 Bang2 that I have to confess a great fondness for - the song of the music box girl. "What do you see, all you people looking at me?" I don't care for Dick van Dykes' "Truly Scrumptious" duet business, I just like that bittersweet music box tune. :)

New 'Cutty Sark' Model from Canon

Sorry Tim, I forgot to mention the trickiest part - you have to start with the ship in your mouth. ;) ;) ;) ;)

New 'Cutty Sark' Model from Canon

The serious bottle-ship modeler first builds the ship proper, none of that sneaky tilting-mast business. Then he melts some glass in his backyard smelter, and blows the glass bottle around the ship. ;-)

    Sd.Kfz. 9 Famo (Angraf 5/2005)

:-0 I saved that photo of the 2,280 cut parts to my hard drive. I will use it for inspiration next time I'm feeling intimidated by some trivial card modeling challenge.

    Mushroom Diorama

That's great! I think it's wonderful that you can enjoy building a nuclear submarine, a NASA rocket or ... a mushroom village. :) I hope you were careful crawling on your belly in the forest ... I remember you encountering that copperhead last year ... :-0

    USS Sulaco / Aliens

Jan, Truly magnificent work! This model is a milestone in card modeling history! :) I like your idea for building the structure from cubes. Should be simple and strong. About the torsion problem - it's not clear to me what is causing it. So, below are three ideas for dealing with...

    Post WW2 + Cold War

There is surely truth in that, yet, there is also great danger in "preparing to fight the last war". The threats we face these days don't seem to much resemble the Third Reich or Imperial Japan (or the USSR for that matter).

    Dodge WC 56 SCALE 1/10

That looks terrific! :thumb: Judging from those beautiful tires, I'm guessing you are from Slovakia? :-)

    Titanic For Dummies Thread

Photoshop "witchcraft". :D Sometimes it does seem like working "spells"! You can spend a lifetime exploring Photoshop. It is such a sprawling program, few people, even professionals, use more than a fraction of its capabilities. Once you start getting familiar with the basics, you may find...

Phil - If you haven't done so already, you may have to tweak your printer settings for best results printing on cardstock. It might take some trial and error, but changing some of the default settings can make a big difference. For dealing with moiré patterns in Photoshop, have you guys...

    Titanic For Dummies Thread

Hey Bengt, Glad to hear you plan to continue work on the Junkers project. We'll all be eager to see it whenever it emerges from its current "hanger". How fascinating that you tracked down someone who actually flew that big wing! Good luck!

    Titanic For Dummies Thread

Bengt, I'm so glad you mentioned color saturation. That is one of the most common problems I see on card model graphics (and also in other areas such as model railroad layouts and pc game graphics). Although well-known to photographers and artists, I think few model designers appreciate...

    Post WW2 + Cold War

If it's true that modelers are especially drawn to WWII because of the "good vs evil" mystique, why are they - by a wide margin - interested in the evil side? Subjects like Bismarck, Me109, Tiger tank, etc are far more popular than subjects like Richelieu, Mustang, Crusader. That seems...

The body is a very complex shape for a single part. Looks like you did a great job, despite the difficulties!

    J V Models - Wards Salvage

I can't believe that's N scale! Really fine work. The details are so nicely done. I especially like the colors, very subtle and realistic. Bravo! :thumb:

    Ocean animals

Looks like a very interesting model, I'm eager to see how it (and the others) turn out. By the way, the Chinese name of the book is different, it's "My Ocean Friends". :)
