    Request for WW1 armour models

The Russian site mentioned by Ralf (Ramatoto), and in one or two other posts, contains a number of armor and aircraft models lifted from Maly Modelartz (and perhaps other publishers). I doubt that he has redistribution rights. I'd be very reluctant to pass that site along, and it might be...

    Wak 6/2007 - Curtiss P-6e Hawk - 1:33

How about a fully detailed Staggerwing? Or even a humble Piper Cub, done up to current 1:33 standards.... (Or maybe they're out there and I just don't know about them :-()

    Typ97-Shinhoto Chi-Ha Model Hobby 1:25

I stand corrected. Premature dementia, I'm sure. Nevertheless, it's still a work of art. I'll have a long argument with myself about when to start building it.... Probably after I retire in a few months.

    Typ97-Shinhoto Chi-Ha Model Hobby 1:25

I got a copy of the Chi-Ha today, along with the frame and track laser-cut sheets. You've got to be really serious (or thoroughly demented) to attempt this one. It is beautiful in every respect -- printing, colors, detail, etc., etc., and could give Halinski a serious run for the money apart...

S.M.S. Schleswig Holstein, GPM, 1:200, Full hull

Interesting descrtiption from Wikipedia, which gives the origin of both "ship of the line" and "battle ship:" "A ship-of-the-line was a type of naval warship constructed from the 17th century through the mid-19th century, the culmination of a naval tactic known as the line-of-battle, in which...

    New Halinski Model

Has anyone seen the new Halinski Yak available with canopy and die-cut formers? GPM is the only place I've found with the model, but no one with the accessories.

    ORLIK "Albatros B-I

Too bad about the bonus models. I've received one with each of the 3 orders I've placed so far, but that might be luck of the draw. But I'd still use Paper Model Store because of the selection and service. He's right up there with PMI, SpiShop and Hobby Model as vendors I have had great...

    ORLIK "Albatros B-I

An unrequested endorsement for Krys at PaperModelStore. I've ordered from him 3 or 4 times. The shipment is always fast (2-3 days), accurate, and extremely well packaged for protection against mishandling by my friendly (but often careless) postal carrier. He always includes a "bonus" model...

Lightship Ambrose - Free Model Competition

Ambose The Ambrose is at the South Street Seaport in NYC. It's on the East River (runs on the east side of Manhattan), just below the Booklyn Bridge. The East River used to be pretty disgusting. It's a lot better now, but I still wouldn't eat a fish caught there....

Imperial Russian Steam Yacht "Livadia" from Walden Models

That was some power plant! The American Liberty Ships from WWII each had a single triple expansion steam engine developing 2500 hp for a max speed of 11 knots, which they rarely achieved in trans-Atlantic crossings. I've got to think that the extra power for the yacht was needed to get that...

GreMir Models P-47D Oh Johnnie in Olive Drab

How about something "simple" to start with, like the Daimler "Dingo" -- sort of a Brit Jeep? A couple of photos from a recent WW II reenactment gathering. (Wish I had one of these to drive to the grocery....)

    Wilhelmsaven Liberty Ship

And, by the way, a very nice build of a really problematic design! Congratulations! And don't let this keep you fro visiting the original in Baltimore. They sell the W'haven kit, but I don't think any of the Project Liberty Ship members have seen it completed.

    Wilhelmsaven Liberty Ship

David kindly pointed to the walk-around I put up on my web site to accompany his resurrected 2-part construction report. There's also a photo report of a cruise on the John W. Brown which contains some additional detail on the gunnery and the problematic winches (the Wilhelmshaven kit shows...
