FG Piper J-5 AE in 1/160 Diorama

Here's an Air-Evac operation in progress, circa 1943. Piper J-5 AE in 1/160. Figures are Preiser, modified and painted to US Navy colors. The windsock staff is the height of a #11 blade. Enjoy, Lep

How to protect paper models from dust?

I use the rigid clear plastic fruit boxes from the grocery to store. Take out a few at a time for display a few days, then change with others

    Fowler B5

Very nice job! I'm building this model in 1/72 now with the intent of scratchbuilding the trailers and howitzers for a diorama. These references will be a big help. What did you use for rivets? Best, Lepercan

    Scratchbuilding is dead, I guess

All I can say is that scratching is NOT dead at my house. In the scales I usually build, 1/72, 1/144, 1/160 and 1/288, there is not a lot around TO buy so I have to do it myself. I must say it adds to the satisfaction when a diorama is completed to know you MADE all of it. Lep

Why do you build card models

A lot of it is the number of friends I have in the paper forums. Lep

So, what does your wife think?

I'm a papermodeler. My wife thinks I spend too much time on it, but supports me in it as she (usually) knows where I am and what I'm up to. How is it that the older we get the more we sound like little boys? Lep

You just drank WHAT? Sorry, couldn't resist. Welcome to our den of madness. We can't afford to get caught...they'll take away our scissors. Keeps some of us from going overboard. I'm looking forward to seeing this build. I've just started a little sidewheeler for a contest we've got going...

    Micromodels

Hi, I built the Monitor and Virginia set a few months ago. Goes together well, particularly if you remember to color edges and if you add smoke to both stacks and maybe a cannon. Lep
