    It's a tab and slot construction, pre-punched, apparently good quality kit probably of S. E. Asian origin. Oh ... and it's of a sundial. :grin: Nice find.

    Hms Ajax

    Achilies and Ajax were sister ships of the first group of the Leander class. For both of them their LBP (length between perpendiculars) was 522' and their LOA (length overall) was 554.5'. I would hate our David to be shortchanged by a whole 1.95" at 1:200. :-)

    Barry I was looking at your pics and reckoning you could achieve a regular layout for the ladders with something like what I've drawn here. It will waste a bit of wire though.

    So it turns out the blades are in greater danger from you than you are from them. :grin: For the ladders perhaps wind a stick in the same way as for the rails. (no I don't have shares in fuse wire)

    Requires an ability to recognise a representation of single edge blades. :-) Can be blunt as nowt's being cut and one can be substituted by almost anything else.
