Rolling stock update (with LOTS of BIG pictures)...

Wayne, that’s a fantastic collection of cars. Can’t wait to see the rest of the cars you still want to re-paint and re-letter. What did you say, how many more do you have waiting on you workbench? BTW, did you use an airbrush to apply this subtle weathering to some of the cars?

    Dan's Layout

Dan, even before I read Mike’s post, I thought that some trucks would look nice in front of that building in the corner. So I really concur with Mike’s suggestion and I like what you made of it. Looks good :thumb:. Like Josh and Ralph, I can’t see anything wrong with the blue building – very...

Signing on: steinjr from Norway, modelling Mpls 1957 H0 scale

Hello Stein, welcome to the Gauge. Thank you for posting the plan and pictures of your layout. I really like your trackplan and I think you made the most of the space available. Looking forward to see many more pictures!

    My Miami Layout

Scott, thank you for the English lesson. So taggers are what I thought they were, but I just was not sure. Do you have a way to keep them off of your layout? On my layout they always seem to creep in at night :p:mrgreen: and then I have to show you pics of those ruined cars . Josh, I...

    My Miami Layout

Hi Stuart, I concur with Wayne that it is good to see you back. How could we forget your fantastic B&O Layout? Not long ago I thought that it is a pity that we see no more new pictures of it. But it is very good news to hear that you already started to work on a new layout. I am looking forward...

    My Miami Layout

Deano, at least you can see some progress ... what a relief . Dan, still a long way to go until it is a nice as your layout . Scott, Deano, I am sure I totally agree with you, but you got to give me a little English lesson first :p: what do you mean by "taggers"...

    Dan's Layout

The air tank and the bike pump to pressurize it is a great idea :thumb:. Does the spur on the bridge lead anywhere or do you have the bridge just for the looks? I’d really like to see a trackplan of your layout to get a notion of how it all belongs together.

    My Miami Layout

Just a little update. After painting the track on the new extension, I am working on the streets now. But somehow that does not seem to be what I really want to do at the moment, so I easily get distracted and progress is very slow . But getting distracted is not always bad :mrgreen...

    On Track, with Deano

Deano, great pictures as usual. Those MP15ACs look very nice in their new WSOR livery. Hey, see what the postman had in his bag for me .

    Dan's Layout

Dan, if that’s what you were after when building your layout, then you really got it right. When I saw your pics, my first thought was "that looks like Chicago". That’s why I mentioned the site about Chicago’s north side.

    Dan's Layout

Too much planning only gets in the way of creativity , and what looks good in a plan does not necessarily look as good as a model. BTW, if you love urban scenes and street running, do you know the site about Chicago’s North Side switching ? Very inspirering. http://chicagoswitching.com/v5/

    Dan's Layout

Thank you for posting these pics as I love urban scenes. You did a great job. It is a well known phenomenon that a layout changes quite frequently, can’t do anything against it, even if a lot of planning is involved (I know what I am talking about :p). Can’t wait to see more :thumb:.

    Google Earth

Josh, maybe Metrobot is what you are looking for. It is a map-based search engine that lists all businesses along a street. Just type in the name of the street and the city. http://www2.metrobot.com/def.cfm?j=1

    My Miami Layout

Colton, I’d like to have a sky like that here at the moment. It’s cold, gray and we are having snow showers – Florida looks very atractive to me ... Deano, you are one of the guys, whose opinion I highly value :thumb::wave:. Good to know you think I did it right. Josh, this...

    My Miami Layout

Scott, Tetters, thank you guys . Lance, thank you for your encouraging comments. Yes, the building in the foreground is Sentry Industries. They are getting all those tank cars (and I like tank cars), that’s why I want to model it. When I first thought of the extension, I wanted to build...

    My Miami Layout

A few days ago I mentioned that I had the idea of a probable future extension for my layout .........Well.... it is no longer "future" or "probable", here it is . The mock-up at the front represents almost exactly the structure I want to build (Sentry Industries), but for the back I...
