What to do with a Kato RSC-2?

It's right. For many years, people in Portugal didn't have any model at all, and we turned to other countries. Lots of friends of mine turned into the USA, others (like myself) to Germany... but the little creature of portuguese models were there, and I still made some home-built models for...

What to do with a Kato RSC-2?

Usually I strip the first original paint. In this case, I haven't done so, because it was already Orange based, so, I just painted with the surface primer, and then the overall paint. When I strip the first paint I use Denatured (Iso-propylic) Alcohol, and let the carcass inside it for some...

What to do with a Kato RSC-2?

I finally got my Alco RSC-2 from kato. You'll probably call me mad, but, what I'm going to do with it is... scratchbuilding... I'm going to depart from a Milwuakee Decorated loco, and turn it into a portuguese CP 1500 series locomotive in it's last orange livery. I'll post here developments...

    ZIP file with spanish ads

Somehow, Javier, you made me think about my early years spending vacations in Andalucia... especially with the Cola-Cao ad.... Maybe I can have some use for them... Don't you have some of the ad's used usually at the border's with Portugal? And those with the Bull to be placed near the roads?

Today is a sad day for Portuguese Railroads

Well... the locomotive shops are about to disappear from Barreiro, spreading people over Poceirão and probably Campolide and Sta. Apolónia... In Barreiro, were made locomotives and for over 50 years, Barreiro was number one in the repairs made to all diesel material... now, with the sunset for...

Today is a sad day for Portuguese Railroads

Yesterday, the 5th June, 2004 was the last day for the trainsets Locomotive+cars to depart from Barreiro in the South border of Tagus River, just in front of Lisbon. The progress made possible by the introduction of the Alfa Pendular fast services, made that, with the new organization, trains...

    The Seixal Station

Not controversial at all... but... (and there's always a but, in these things)... My final work at college is about the line coming from Barreiro to Seixal. If you want to know some of the story, Barreiro is in the south border of the Tagus river and you reach it after a boat journey for about 1...

    Stª Apolónia Station (Portugal)

Just to remember something, about this... In this times, with the clouds of terrorism hanging over Portugal because of the Euro 2004 and the Rock in Rio, we can't do pictures freely. You should go with someone authorized or ask Refer (see their site at www.refer.pt) for an authorization to take...
