    Help with N Scale Catenary

I too am a believer in never dropping my pants all the way.. :) however. I've always wants a layout with Cat, in my early 20s I saw a layout at a model show in Bridgend where an N scale Swiss Krokodil came out of a tunnel with its Pant following the wire up and down a little with the odd spark...

    Help with N Scale Catenary

Well, my larger model railroad dreams never get complete so I've decided to inspire myself by building a 1950mmx750mm European layout. That said I have quite a few electric locomotives and really want to put catenary on the visible side of the layout. My question is: Is there a way of...

    Trans Canada Trip

    November 2007 in South Wales

They do zip through here pretty quickly. Bob, you were probably riding in one of the old DMU's the 110s or something, they weren't exactly quick off the mark. Even though they're over 25 yrs old now the HSTs still accelerate very quickly (I think they hold the current diesel speed record too...

    November 2007 in South Wales

Yep, although actually nothing too local, basically regional and intercity stuff. This is the London -> South Wales mainline and has been four tracked, well since I don't know when, at least early 20th Century. Its basically up slow, up fast, down fast, down slow. So its more about capacity...

    Best DCC for N Scale???

Meiriongwril, I still face the dilemma of many loco's to convert, I have lots of older stuff and difficult to convert ones that I'm just going to take it slowly with. One solution that I used to transition was to use DCC and DC, just not together. It really is easier to start DCC as early...

    Best DCC for N Scale???

Shw mae Meriongwril Greetings from another Taff in North America (I'm from Caerfilli). Anyhow, to the point. I'm a reluctant DCC convert (I love it but found converting a nightmare). I use a digitrax Zephyr, which I would happily recommend, my larger Bendtrack group use Digitrax...

Comparative sizes of North American vs. UK locos

Especially the GWR and subsequently WR David, if I remember the Great Western only built one 4-6-2?, they never felt the need to build pacifics because the Castle's and King's (both 4-6-0's) seemed to do the job for them (although, being a taff, I think that was down to the fine Welsh steam coal...
