    Have you ever felt lost

Josh, Russ - I am looking again at the A-line site just in case I missed something. Right now I have a tentative find from Bruno at Trucks N Stuff for a propane trailer only but no diesel tractor. It should be easy fix by buying a separate truck. I will let the list know what transpires. The...

    Have you ever felt lost

Walther's is out of stock on the ones I am interested in and they do not have an anticipated date. The 1-87 vehicles site was interesting but not much help in locating what I need. All my local (northern California) shops do not have this so I am forced to spend time searching smaller shops...

    Have you ever felt lost

I am desperately trying to find Trucks N Stuff HO scale propane tankers and have run up against a brick wall and it hurts. Specifically, I am really interested in 734-2050 (Walther's) as my primary choice and 734-2043 as a secondary choice. I need at least two if not three of these but...

    Oddball tunnel question

I figured they were, but what has me puzzled is in particular with SP in its dying days sold and/or leased a lot of rail to shortline roads or outright abandoned the lines. So, with SP being assimilated into UP how many tunnels does UP actually have in light of all of the acquisitions of the...

Several of us in my model railroad club swear by Tony's Train Exchange and it is nice to see that others get the same great service. JD

With a screen name like, wortchillergoal I know you make homebrew which is far better than the stuff that comes in cans from AB. JD - homebrewer myself and better at that than modeling.

    Oddball tunnel question

I have this friend and my friend wants to know how many officially FRA recognized tunnels there are for each of the following railroads: UP, BNSF, CSX and NS. I would answer this question for him, but he like me is ignorant of such statistics and does not know where to find an answer. Any...

    Nevada-Arizona

If you are willing to make a 5-6 hour road trip then you have to go to Tehachapi in California. There are restricted access spots and I will let others fill in the gaps, but this is one of several "must see" spots. JD

    rts layouts

I am not sure you can download track plans into RTS as it is my understanding that RTS is for designing a layout not duplicating one. JD

    HO sidewalk thickness

We have 6" curbs here. I was never any good at math so do not ask me to convert to millimeters. One thing to remember and may not be clear to all is that the thickness of a sidewalk slab is not the same as the height of the curb. JD

    Switching the Grain

Tom, nice detailing. Great work on the wheelsets and the "splash" effect in the hopper bays which make it look all the more real. JD

Springtime at the Western Railway Museum

Gang, I just cheated and did a cut and paste on this submission. This is from the Western Railway Museum website and is passed along as an FYI. For anyone not familiar with the Western Railway Museum and its location, it is on California highway 12 approximately 15 miles west of Rio Vista and...

Steam whistle sound when opening home page

Well, the speaker volumn can always be turned down or off, but I voted no merely because of the additional bandwidth that would be involved in loading a wave file.
