Disused Coaling Station - photo intense

What was your technique for the roof? (Did you soak the panels in something, or...?)

The makin's of one nasty accident

You say a buffalo was the suspected cause, eh? Clearly it was a smart buffalo; it ran away and is nowhere to be seen... sign1 (Either that, or it's somewhere underneath the pileup it caused)

    Who models multiple scales?

I'm in the "transitional" stage right now. Officially I'm strictly an N-scaler (which is all that I'm centering in on); however I still have a whole crapload of HO stuff, most of which I'm looking to get rid of.

    Passenger car in N scale

I'd start with either a Kato or Con-Cor business car; but then, that's just me.

    CNW conection lines

For Wisconsin, I can tell you Milwaukee Road/Soo Line/GB&W/FRV (FRV was all former CNW track by the way) or Wisconsin Central (depending on era), and WSOR (Wisconsin and Southern). Add to that the GBW agreement with BN (mostly intermodal) and you have a wider variety still. Then there's Soo...

    Terrorism on the rails.

This might be getting a little too political, but that brings up another good point in the sense of the "ultimate" people behind the terrorist attacks - by that I mean the hijackers themselves - were American citizens.

    Terrorism on the rails.

All politicalness aside, it'd theoretically be a lot easier (and more feasible) to secure the rail network than it is the airline system. First and foremost, trains are confined to running on rails; there's no risk of ramming into a building other than a derailment or a closed loading door...

    Terrorism on the rails.

My (only) experience with CN was also less than pleasant; I was teaching at a private school at the time, and we were in Green Bay for a feild trip so thought we would stop at the CN yard to see about a tour (the year prior we visited the yard while it was under Wisconsin Central still). While...

    questions questions, and more questions

As to the reasoning behind using the various wood sizes and grades, it's a conspiracy set in place by the lumber companies. :thumb:

    Passenger train ?

Your car needs are likely based on 2 criteria: location and distance. Namely, are you representing a large city (NY/DC/LA/Chicago) with a lot of long-haul and regional services, or are you in a locale with only regional or long-distance service? As to paint schemes, since you're doing this in...

    Intermodal yard

Road (main decking) can be done many ways; just blend it in with the rest of your roadways. (Sounds obvious, but it's really the best thing to do.) My personal choice is "foamies" (available at any craft store). As to keeping the track clean, best advice is probably keeping everything...

I personally use foamies (found at nearly any craft store).

    My First Lay Out Design

Really, as long as it's in the center of the room, he ought to be able to access everything without derailing much of anything.
