Doing it right is the only way Allen (Goodduck) knows how to do anything.

I'm sure of that and I fully agree. When I start a model based on a real-life prop or vehicle I use the real-life dimensions and work with them. Then I make a copy and rescale this to the scale I want the model to be. Since I still have the 1:1 version I can always go back and make additions or flesh out things if necessary. It is always easier to scale things down than up.

Finally, got the Yamato Final Battle Ver kit in hand.
The kit offers hardly any details for the secondary battery base so I added my own panel lines.

That main battery base looks great! The panel lines fit in very well.

I have given up trying to match the concept art or the plastic model kit. Got enough headache at work, don't need any more headache from my hobby too. It supposed to be relaxing, damn it.

Nice Pen Render but all I see in the center is a rectangle (and that's after of 10 minutes of looking? I think the answer as to which version this is, it "Allen's" version.

So I finally got the official 2202 Yamato design file book #2, don't have to look at the web images anymore. So nice! Trying to flip through pages very carefully Wish I have the original 3d models.
