No collection of Big E's is complete without the Orbiter. With the aerodynamic rear cover in place she is a very photogenic bird.

I had the good fortune to see her in person, atop the transporter 747 at Kelly AFB in the late 70's

Yes, the rear fairing over the engine bells, it's main purpose was to make the back of the orbiter more aerodynamic during transport aboard the 747.

I used a tip I had picked up on here - i used waters colours to sort the "white" edging
