She's a beauty for sure. I'm really happy Lex is letting us host it! :)

There was a documentary out of the UK that came out recently about Britain and the jet age post second world war. There were two episodes, the first on eary british military jets, the second on civil airliners, much of the second documenting the earlier and later Comet. It might help with some historic and design info.

Amazing project...thumbs up!

Lex really designs nice models. When you are able to Download this you will enjoy building it and showing if off. :)

Looking forward to that day Zathros.I never got to see a Comet in flight. The closet to that was seeing the Nimrod perform at an airshow in 1992.

Cheers,
Douglas

Oh I would have settled for that!! Those Nimrods were awesome craft. I cried when I heard they scrapped a pile of Shackleton's a couple of decades ago. :)

Are those Nimrods still flying? I believe they used them and the Vickers VC.10 as refeulling aircraft no? One came here to Toronto a few years ago and crashed unfortunately, they kept the tail of the plane here as a memorial.

I work across the street from [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] Comet Mk4C C/N 6424, G-AOVU, XA-NAR, N888WA, and have had the pleasure of touring her. The Comets are cool planes, especially for having a first flight in 1949! Don't they share their nose with the Caravelle?

It does look similar to the Caravelle, but I thought the Caravelle and the Concord have some relation. They all seem to have the vertical frame design. Maybe the VC.10 does as well?

No repaints done on this model are to be distributed without Lexx's written approval. That will get you booted from the forum! This is the warning!!, and I want too see it first. Lexx is a very easy going person, send him a P.M., he is a member here.

I built Lex fabulous Comet liner. I repainted it with his permission to the BOAC colours and added the leading edge tanks to make the 3C

Lex would be ecstatic to see that. He gave me permission to host his models. You've made the best one yet. Could you post some bigger pictures?, Please? :)
