Those "thingys" are actually security seals. Once its cinched down it can only be removed by cutting it. Bet you can find them where they sell shipping supplies such as Office Depot, Staples or OfficeMax. Great idea Robin:) :) Ain't it amazing what we can see when we take the time to look!!!!:D :D :D

Just down the road from us is a drop box for the mailman. He comes along opens the box. Cuts the seal or tie as I call them off the bag of mail then discards the used seal. When I see him. he gives them to me. Now there are all kinds of these seals or ties and can be found in stores like Canadian Tire where they are sold in the elecrtic department. They can be used to hold bundles of wire as some of us modellers do with below track wiring. There are all sorts of sizes and lengths. I look for used ones because they are free. Just approach you post office and ask them isf they have any lying around.
This modelling is fun ain't it

Robin - Great idea!!! :) But I cant use then in G scale. :(

Rory - I always look at flea markets and junk sales for oddball stuff - My friends always ask me after I pick up some confounded item: "Aah it must be for the train platform - Right???" :) :D :)

It's a Great hobby - running your own little world isn't it??? :)

OK heres the small barn made with two of the tags.
Barnboard still to be added and then painted.
Actually it would have been easier to make it from carboard only.
