As many of you know, a year or so ago, I had taken the simple Zoot Rocket model, and added some parts not originally there, leaving an incomplete model.
I then took it to work and had a friend, Mark, color all the parts.
I took the colored pages and built the rocket up for him, to call his own, reinforcing it to resist handling, and added only a few creative embellishments..i.e. the jewel side windows and the landing stems at end of fins.
I gave it back to Mark for him to proudly display in his room, with a personalized plaque bearing his nick name at work.
Here are the pics of him holding his rocket after having entered it in the state fair.
I hope I posted this correctly, in the right place. FB_20160127_23_03_07_Saved_Picture.jpg

Mark did a really good job on colouring it! I like how you personalized it for Mark within the build.
I am glad to see that you are sticking with this project!!!:Bravo:

Thank you very much Rhaven. Life made me take time off awhile, but I was determined to not let it slip through the cracks.
It was a challenge but fun, and he really did a great job.

Unfathomable depth of the finest of human character and of human struggle to be and persevere, and flourish. . That would look excellent displayed anywhere!!

Reminds me of a poem from one of my favorite authors, "Fern Hill", by Dylan Thomas:

Final stanza: Fern Hill, Dylan Thomas
.........................
..........Nothing I cared, in the lamb white days, that time would
take me
Up to the swallow thronged loft by the shadow of my hand,
In the moon that is always rising,
Nor that riding to sleep
I should hear him fly with the high fields
And wake to the farm forever fled from the childless land.
Oh as I was young and easy in the mercy of his means,
Time held me green and dying
Though I sang in my chains like the sea.

I fully understand when life throws you a curveball and a spanner into the cogworks. I recently moved back to the US. So I had to take a sabbatical until I was able to get to a point to where I can build again. I am at that point there now. I recently finished a Thunder Fighter model as my "comeback build".
I am glad that you are back.
