Zathros is out of commision for now.

I'll tell you one thing that is extremely strange, there are absolutely no bugs around. They have all "bugged out", really, no kidding. Usually it starts to get really bad now, but there are none, of any kind. :eek:

I had 2 pine trees come down in 2015 that were in my backyard due to a freak storm & they were a mission to get rid of! (Yes, RF, still got lots of firewood...) Good luck clearing up & hopefully the clean-up crews don't break too much!

The loudest sounds bouncing off of my house I've ever heard. My 1967 Shasta trailer was flattened by a tree, my For Taurus had the front windshield smashed. I have a generator hooked up to my house. Many around me are in the black. I wonder why they choose such expensive cars, then loose all their food, freezer goods, get flooded basements, some can't live in their house because of the small (sump pumps),because they did not chose to put in generators? I have to admit, I am quite comfortable. I have Satellite T.V. Hot Water, and my Fridge works fine. It is costing me around 8 gallons a day to run the house. I may get a smaller generator, I think 6000 watts is excessive, 4000 Watts would work ( I already own a 4000Watt one, and it's electric start!) this present one doesn't even lose idle when I turn on the 16,000 BTU air conditioner!! I have a line with a "Potable Water" for anyone who needs it. For 2 days you could not go further than 500 feet from your home because of the trees all crushed and tangled together. All of us own chain saws, and instead of waiting for the town, we cut our own way out.

I may lose internet again, when they big crews come in and screw up the wires, but all is well. I have around 30 trees I have to cut up, so I will be laying low for a while. Some of the 100 foot tall trees have split and are broken with their other top ends wedges into the crotches. I have no idea what to do, and I don't have the many 1000's of dollars it will take to make this go away, so time will tell. Chris will be the go to person, along with Revelle-Fan, and the other moderators, if you need anything. ;)

Welcome back! What you have described are people that have never lived in a rural area before. Glad you were able to make it especially since that tornado was practically on top of you!

Great to have You back. It pays off to be prepared like you. It seems nowdays majority of people takes electricit, water and gas for granted.

Got power back. The generator was using 9 gallons a day. The Insurance adjuster came over. Depressed the shit out of me. At least they are paying for the lime that came through the city, and the siding. They won't cover any of the trees that did not hit any structure. I have huge trees, some I am just not sure what to do with. My Husqavarna 445E has decided it needs new fuel lines, it's not holding vacuum to keep it going. I have only used this chain saw 3 time since purchasing it, always storing it properly. Oh well.

You got to love it after paying all those premiums with an implied promise and they then explain why they won't pay what you thought they would.

My Lord, I have such huge piles of wood at my house. I have a Cherry tree, 100 feet tall, that I was told was worth money. A guy is going to chop it down for me, he says he knows a few people who would buy 8 foot pieces. I wish they were all Cyerry. My Oak Tree din't lost a twig.

I am glad that both ou and your family are OK, and that there was no serious damage.

As for the cherry wood, that would make for some really beautiful furniture.
