Great start, man! And doing it 4x larger will alow for a lot of greebling, should you "choose that path".

Not sure why the forks are so loose but that is a big challenge. It should look great. At that size, I would consider using wood dowels for the forks and other "non paper" materials, you will need them for a sturdy model. 
Four times bigger? That would probably be the only way I could successfully build one, with ham hands. This will be interesting to watch.

I like to scale models up too. It's something that is economical to do in paper, but big models in plastic cost a fortune. I think there are fork sliders that will take care of the front end.
If the forks are a bit loose, maybe you could fill them with something, like some small pieces of thin paper (75gsm). Just an idea, and you've probably already thought of that.
just don't ride it to a Harley convention
