I was part of breaking a Guinness world record this afternoon.
One of our local rock stations, KYYS, rounded up 1,683 guitarists (official count) to all play "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple at once. The previous record was 1,300 guitarists. They tried to break this record a little over 3 months ago in London and couldn't get the job done. Kansas City showed the world how to rock today. And we even did it in one take.
1st pic is the registration gate
2nd pic is Santa and his posse
3rd pic is one of the younger participants
4th pic is my buddy, George, and I. (I'm the short, fat one with buzzed hair)
5th pic is a group shot of most of the 1,683 guitarists on the ballfield.
