More info... It was Train 86 or 89 (two conflicting reports) eastbound to Toronto. The derailment was in the town of New Hamburg... The extent of the injuries was as reported... hot coffee... Could have been much worse...
I was right, it was the GEXR line that it was travelling on that goes through St. Mary's, Stratford, and Kitchener on its way to Toronto.
After seeing pictures, it was an FP40 Locomotive pulling Budd stainless steel cars, but I don't know which one...
It looks like the train simply slid off the tracks and ground to a halt... no flipping or anything really dangerous like that...
