Hello Again...
So this is my attempt at very low budget Table Top Role Playing Game terrain. So far my whole budget for this project is $5 USD, this consists of 1 sheet of foam core board from the dollar store, 1 pack of foam plates, again from the dollar store, I 2oz bottle of Mod Podge, 1, 2oz bottle of craft paint, and 1 package of "Skinny Sticks".
This initial outlay will make many tiles, or structures.
My first tile is 2in by 6in, in 28mm scale this will represent a 10ft wide by 30ft long corridor. I cut a 2in by 6in rectangle out of foam core, glued a 2in by 6in piece of foam plate too one side, them applied a wood border using 3 "Skinny Sticks" I then applied a slight texture to the foam plate surface, and carved in my 1in tiles.

Next them messy part, messy because I had a spill, mix the Mod Podge with the craft paint, to make an acrylic sealer for my creations. You don't add all the craft paint to all the Mod Podge, just use the paint too "tint" the Mod Podge. I had a small spill, but it went almost everywhere. luckily none of my current projects got damaged by it.
two coats of the sealer to make my terrain impervious.

I coated both sides, soo it sits on toothpicks while it dries. This sealer layer will take a full 24 hours to cure.
next will be painting the stonework to be a believable dungeon hallway...

Painted to resemble stonework, no wash applied yet.

Starting on a 6" by 6", to represent an area of 30' by 30'

1" grid carved in, but this one is gonna be a little more complicated...

I am breaking up each square, so the 1" grid won't be as obvious.

If you don't use that for gaming, you could put a nice lamp o it surrounded with some of your models. It's a great piece on it's own. Great workmanship. :)

That's one of the reasons I'm making these, add some display to my shelves.

next one started, closer to 5 3/4" by 5 3/4" trying to make it's sides match the length of mu "skinny Sticks"
20200921_105749_resized.jpg
and on this tile there will be no grid, just random size and shape tiles all cut from the remains of my third foam plate...

Doors, tombstones, both denote a passageway of one kind or another...

Very clean and authentic work. The paint job on these guys is just plain fantastic. They are many levels above the ones I have seen that are painted. I imagine that you could take a paper model, and knock it out of the ball park with your painting abilities. ;)
