Hi all:wave:
I want to get sound to my trains like Hminky does here.

Make Stationary Diesel Sound for a Small Layout

I am not a rivet counter by any means ( can't tell the sound of one loco from another any how ) and was wondering if I could get some recommendations on good decoders for this project. The one that he used is apparently not available anymore.
P.S. I have thought of the MRC Soundstation, but I want the sound to mimic the trains movements.

Tony's Trains has a listing for the DSD-100LC Hminky used (DSD-100LC Low Cost and PnP Sound and Power | Digital Sound Decoder | Soundtraxx Products at Tony's Train Exchange.) with no caveats about availability...

As for other options, the Digitrax sound I got for Christmas required a decoder and a SXF004 Sound Bug, so I would not recommend that route unless you have a spare Digitrax decoder already that has the NMRA plug built-in to connect the SFX004 to the decoder. Same deal for the LokSound :cry:
