Hi guys,
Another fighter from the Star Wars universe that is still missing in my collection is the Y-Wing. It is hard to find a good model of this bomber. I found this version on my harddisk and decided to use this version and extend it a bit. (That worked out quite well with the Phantom Fighter).

I printed twice, to have the material for adding details.

Oh no, no details for the cannon on the top - I will have to create one.

I am looking forward to this. If you break the boxy shape of the hull with details it will look realy nice.
I hope so. Will see how this project ends.

In the meantime some further pics.

Very original and unique paneling on Y-wing head. Unusual for me because I know the original well.
Yeah, you got that right. I have the plastic model of Rebel at home, but since I am aware that I can't manage to get all the details right, I do it without paying attention to the original.

If I remember correctly, you once did a Y-Wing. Unfortunately I didn't find any pictures, but I know that this is a sensational fighter.

My skills are far from making such a model.

Top of this part is ready. Side parts still to do.

I really wish I had the skills and also the patience to make the details true to the original. Unfortunately both are not sufficiently available.
Not enough for an exhibition but for my small collection it could be a nice addition.

You got that right, there are some small parts to do.

Finally I managed to finalize this part with all the details. The side which connects to the cockpit will be greebled when I glue everything together, because some parts of the detailes are hidden by the "droit seat". (see picture 2)

The next part must be placed in front of the greebeling, because it has to be pushed through an opening, which is not possible afterwards.

The additional parts up to here I made mostly with 1mm cardstock. For the next parts I will use a smaller thickness.

You got that right - it has much space for adding details, and thx for your cheering words.

My last post was a bit longer ago, which is because i had to struggle with the next parts. I noticed that the plastic model looks different as the paper model. Therefore I tried to create some parts which help to match with the plastic model and the studio model. First a fast try to see whether it coud work. Then the final parts ---- which are too wide. So they are not final as hoped, and I have to do it again - pictures coming soon ;-)
