Hello all,

it took me a long time to finish the 1/32nd scale Viper Mark II from Uhu.

Now I'm back in the Star Wars universe and have started building the U-Wing transporter. It's a good model - not very detailed (especially no cockpit), but as far as I know it's the best (the only) model that is (was) available. There is a corresponding building instruction with which the assembly should not be a problem.
Where it seems useful I will add additional details.

Next parts pepared. Not glued yet (beside the gun section) assembled just for testing purpose.
Details are partly 1 layer (marking on wings), partly 2 layers (parts of the bottom hull)or glued to cardboard (top part of top hull).

That is coming together nicely!!!
Unfortunately not.
The upper hull is totally out of shape.
It was not possible to bring into the correct shape. And then I found the formers…….nothing more to say. Back to start.

I fully understand your frustration. I too have had to start projects over (insert reason here:__________________). I am glad that you have a positive attitude towards it though. I am looking forward to seeing how it will turn out!!!

Starbuck, Your build thread has been a total success.

Your step-by-step process and your excellent, close up pics have been very instructional to anyone considering the start of this build (like me!). Additionally, your discovery of the NED for formers is instructive and helpful.

You didn't fail; you pioneered the build for many of us and taught us all what is important.

Please continue and keep giving us details of needed fit, model deign flaws, and your suggestions on how to best build.

Thanks much for your persistence and your teaching moments.

OH - I'm sorry that you have to start over. But I can say from my experience the next build will be even better because you have already familiarized with the parts. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! :)

Thank you for the uplifting words.
I have prepared the upper shell again, but have not yet glued it to the base. For the cannons, I glued the paper strip slightly away from the edge. This version turned out much better, though I have no idea how or where the formers are attached yet. Maybe not at all with the upper hull? Let's see maybe I still come on it.

Hi guys, today I have some news:
* the model is made by papierschnitzel, but I think it is no longer available
* the markings of the model were in blue in the printpreview - the print is black - no idea why.:sadno:
* the formers are not for the hull - the hull should be stable without former
* I don't add any details to the hull yet for fear that it will be unstable or out of shape.
* I also do not glue together yet - I will do later and slowly to avoid parts going out of shape

The next parts have been prepared (lower hull) - and next are the engines.
