Star Wars Tie-Phantom Building Thread

Hi togehter,
I saw this fighter in the PC-game called "Rebel Assault II", which I still love to play.
If you edit your difficulty level you can not die in any mission, and with the enclosed cutscense it is like looking a Star Wars movie.

The model I found is not very detailed, therefore I will ad some details and I will paint it a liite bit.
So, let us start with the first pictures.

I had problems with the cockpit - I was not able to imagine how to connect with the body.
Therefore I added the "bottom" of the cockpit, and created the new - smaller - ring to be able to connect.

There is a big place for not so detailed models. Sometimes you just want to build a model, not put your heart on display!!

Main body connected with the cockpit.
To make the model more interesting I cut some parts out and doubled others.
Furthermore I gave some colour on selected parts.

The wings seem to me not stable enough, so I will add some enforcements.

Final parts - as mentioned enforcements for the wings.
....and I wanted to have some more realistic guns - therefore I used wooden sticks to create them.
Afterwards I painted the edges and gave the fighter some light weahtering.

This time i used thick paper to make the additional details pop up.
Not 100% happy with. I should have used papers with different thickness. For some parts (e.g. wings) it might be better to use smaller paper.
But I think this will not be my last model where I have the wish to add additional details.
Will do better next time.
