Star Wars T-70 - building thread - blue version with additional details

Hi together,
the model is available in different color versions on the internet. I have built the model before and gave it away. This time I would like to build the model in more detail.

The biggest problem is that there is no cockpit. Since I have no skills to create a cockpit, I can only try to take an existing X-Wing cockpit and try to modify it to the correct size. Let's see if it will work.

I use wodden sticks to instead of the paper parts - this will give more stability to the cannons. The parts at the front of the modell are not glued now - i will only glue when all parts are prepared.

Oh forgot to mention - i reduced the glueing tabs on one as an be seen on the last 2 pictures, as I remembered that it was very tricky to hide the tabs on the upper side. Second thing was that the sticks are perfect to be inserted the existing wholes, but they are a little bit to strong for those parts which will be wrapped around. So I had to make the stick a litte bit narrower.
All parts finalized, but not glued! I will not glue before the final assambley to ensure that the cannons are finally properly aligned.

An interior would boost the look tremendously.

....regarding the droid plate: within this version the dark plate is delivered, but I prefer the brighter one which I took from the Ralph McQuarry version ;-)

BTW, where does that BB unit come from?

The BB is a figure from Lego. Size is nearly perfect.

You have to fix the bottom top edge of the cockpit, the cuts are just too noticeable (wiggly line).. The top edge is so perfect. You'll hate yourself if you don't, the rest of the model is coming out so damned good!!
