I never thought of dry brushing water colors! Good idea.

I figured that watercolors would bleed more than markers but dry brushing makes sense, regarding how to avoid that. I had thought acrylics would be required.

Pastels work but can flake a lot and become messy.

good idea!

I use my acrylic hobby paints when I'm at home, and am using just cheap craft acrylics here, $.50 a bottle at WalMart.

This is a technique that I had learned when I was in Eastern Europe. A friend taught me how it do it. If done properly (yes, just like everything else, it does take a bit of practice), you will get great results (especially if you are able to mix your colours properly).

That would make a great teaching thread...

Strange. I answered this a week ago. I used a gold plastic picnic plate and I heated it up with a hairdryer like Heatgun, then push molded a measuring spoon into it against some furniture foam ( that yellow thick foam inside cushions) trimmed it with tiny scissors and then used hot glue to mount it to the paper model part.

To me this is astounding. I think the Kbop is worthy of standing among the very best of our PM efforts. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Well, I finished the other nacelle this morning and the darn thermal laser print cracked again even tho I heated it before bending. so I marker'd the breaks and glued them on anyway. Next is to run the wires thru the top of the secondary hull and then into and thru the locking mechanism so it doesn't sag on the struts. then some LEDs on the shuttle bay area and close off the secondary hull and begin the neck.

That's interesting technique!

Please consider a series of thread entries demonstrating the process. It sounds very sharp and effective,. and it solves the challenges of curved paper shapes!
