A college of mine is a big Star Wars fan. I asked him what his favorite model is. He loves the Slave One so as a guft for him I will build this model for him. There are 11 pages and no building instruction. But there is a pdo file available so this will help a lot. Lets start with page one.

Update 01 07 2023
For me it took some time to understand how to build this model. Take your time when building this model otherwise you will end up with a messy model. I was close to stop and dump it in the bin. After a short break I have finished the model overall Imhappy with the result. Follow the steps below and you will be able to build this model.

First page is done.
20230507_144130.jpg
Cut the parts from the furst sheet.
20230507_144157.jpg
Glue the top site of the main body with a own made tab. The original tab is to small.
20230507_144238.jpg
I call this part the "heel" before assembling preform it and take your time to glue the tabs. Also put the small horse shoe on top of it.
20230507_144252.jpg
Before glueing the "heel" use some claps to pull the main body toghetter.
20230507_144306.jpg
Use claps to hold the sides.
20230507_144221.jpg
Assemble the plating left and right.
20230507_144326.jpg
Bend the tabs and glue the plating.
20230507_144340.jpg
Plate glued on main body.
20230507_144359.jpg
And the first page is finished.

This is the best free paper model of the Slave I which is currently available. I'd like to build it for my friend, too, so this thread will be very useful. So far I don't know about a build thread on this model, so this is a world premiere. :)

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this turns out. :)

Great to hear this is the first thread. It is a simple looking model but there are nice chalanges to overcome.

20230507_180626.jpg

20230507_180646.jpg
This is the last part. pre shape to get it rounded. The black part will be attatched at a later time.

This is my first time Im working with a pdo file. I think the designer never build it otherwise he would have update several parts and give some directions how to build it. I would have done that. But any way Im trying to make the best of it.

Parts to be glued.
20230518_120037.jpg
Begin to glue one side at a time.
20230518_120058.jpg
When both sides are done I saw a gap.
20230518_120116.jpg
I made an incision between the eye's to close the gap.
20230518_120145.jpg
And this is how the inner part looks.
20230518_122931.jpg
For best result I think you need to use some cardboard and glue the inner part on the sides of the cardboard. I glued the innerpart directly on the fuslage and follded the edges.

Assembly of the eye's.
20230518_120242.jpg
Both eye's done.
20230518_120305.jpg

As you can see progress is slow but it is a steady progress. Stil lots todo and to find out how to attach parts together.

Today was a productive day I finished some parts here some images.

Take your time to asemble and if possible check the fittings. Some parts dont align correct so you have to correct them. Maybe I was to fast gluing the parts that I need to make correction. But hey the end result counts and it looks good to me.
