I don't know what others use, but I use a Krylon "Matte Finish" or they also have a "Crystal Clear Fixative" that works and dries almost instantly. You can find them at most craft stores.

Belg, I have used Testors Dullcote Lacquer. The printing on my old Cannon printer needed good sealing but I have now upgraded to a Lexmark X75 and the printouts from it seem to be much more water resistant so the inks are getting much better.
