Revelle-Fan, technically that is not a carrier, it looks like a "Landing Helicopter Assault" (LHA) ship. It's probably an "America Class". Our amphibious assault ships are bigger than most countries carriers. You see one of these off of your shore, you had better be expecting the visit, as one could destroy a country. They carry everything, including JSF 35 Lightnings, LCAC Air cushion vehicles which car carry two Abrahms tanks, a shit load of Stryker turreted amphibious troop carrying vehicles, the list goes on, plus 5000 USMC Marines. We have quite a few, the "America Class" being the latest, so this could be one of the others but it sure looks like an "America Class"

That is an awesome view. I would have a telescope and try and buy a used ships binoculars to look at that view. :)

An old article: https://thediplomat.com/2015/07/us-...er-amphibious-assault-ship-for-f-35-fighters/

While we were at the USS Midway Museum, I took a couple long shots of Abraham Lincoln, and Carl Vinson in port. as well as John Paul Jones Underway.
