What about a kitbash? I have added several new containers to the Colonial Movers. You also may make the ship shorter or longer. Just take a look at the kits, they are in the Resource Section. :)

That's an idea. I could go for that. The main idea is that the Robinson assembly would assemble this as they are on their way to a new world. A make shift look is what I'm going with on this to accommodate the Robinson needs that the other ships can't provide or haven't yet. As well as more space for additional crew members through the years.

What about a central core with mounting arms on the left and right, then a container on each arm and another container below the first container so that its silhouette is similar of the AT-Hauler?

Hmmm... sort of like an regular ocean ship construction with the keel and ribs flipped upside down with the containers on the sides or another idea something like this:

Maybe... A few scribbles might help. Just grab a piece of paper and sketch everything you imagine. It mustn't be too detailed at the beginnning, just rough enough to determine the over-all shape. Then take the one you like best and add details to flesh it out. ;)

Fantastic! any chance of life boats or scout ships to homage the original comic book and tv show?

These are great ideas Spaceagent! Although the Robinson in this case doesn't refer to the "Lost in Space" series. It's something dreamed up by Alien 99 / Jan Rukr. See the earlier posts. If the you did a scale comparison of the Jupiter 2 say to the Rea Liner

it would be a VERY tiny ship indeed! Perhaps more on the scale of some of the little scout ships on the Neucom (see above).

Hmmm... I believe it could be done.

Wow! I just realized I haven't included too many shots of the little scout ships on each of the big ships as well as some pics of the whole assembly together. I'm going to have to change that.

Full Robinson Assembly

As you can see this is NOT a small assembly - the ruler is a foot long.

As can be seen below the Rea Liner doesn't line up too well with the Orca. Also the magnetic strength isn't strong enough. The Rea Liner will probably be rebuilt one day with stronger magnets as well as the magnets in the orca will be doubled up. The Orca can have the front sections cut out with new magnets added. The Rea Liner needs a total rebuild with the nacelles lined up to match the Orca.

That's it for now for the Robinson. The 9th ship or stand ship will have to be pretty long to support most of the assembly (especially the front). Need to get exact measurements and move forward with the design. Time permitting as always.

Enjoy!

I think this could make a great series for TV, preferably on the SyFy channel, now that they have changed their ways (The Expanse" debacle wasn't their fault). This assembly of ships has production facilities, not being tied to a gravity hole would make mining asteroids an ongoing and necessary practice.
