The next project by master artist Shunichi Makino is an updated version of his TIE Interceptor.

This is a comparison of the old one from 2002 and the revision. Due to the lack of reference material many details and shapes were wrong or incomplete and are corrected on the fly. Shunichi is still thinking of keeping the cubee-like cockpit ball - because it looks cute and is easy to build. :)

The wing detail was completely off and needed to be redone.

CONGRATULATIONS on behalf of the entire forum! You are doing a formidable job and seeing your models come together is a pure joy.

I tried to comment on your blog but I'm totally lost since everything is in Japanese, so I hope you read this message here. :)

If you ever wanted to know how TIE Interceptors were reproducing ... Will it be a boy or a girl? Or a TIE caterpillar or a TIE Interceptor Elite, or... Questions to be answered soon in one of the next updates. :D ;) :)

Shunichi mentioned that he is revising his Fighter without the aid of a 3D computer model.

Shunichi calls it the "deformed" or "LEGO" style Interceptor. He wants it to be simple enough for beginners and I think he did a great job! :)

Now he's preparing the instructions.
