Redwood stain

Greetings,

I am starting out into the wonderful world of craftsman structure building for my redwood logging line. I am starting out with a simple model to get my hands dirty. I have a Campbell Bunkhouse B which a few loggers will use in the off hours. My question is this: Can anyone give me some advice into what color/ type stains to use to simulate a semi new (maybe a couple of years old) redwood structure on stripwood found in Campbell kits? Thanks for any insight you can give! :D

Sounds like a thinned red oak stain with a gray wash might do the trick. Campbells usually gives you enough scrap to experiment. Hope that helps.
 
Thanks shaygetz for the welcome and your suggestion. I tried the thin red oak stain and had very satisfactory results on a few test pieces. My redwood bunkhouses are on their way. :thumb:
