Hello

Draccus is back with a new project.
cool.gif

A two-axle special wagon from 1938 used to transport acids in stoneware vessels. These wagons had a riveted frame with a specially adapted wooden floor for transporting 12 tanks of 1000 liters each. The wagon box was a specially constructed skeleton, made of steel sections on which a bridge was placed to facilitate access to tanks, and two raised wooden front walls. These vessels were only removed for maintenance. Filling was done from above by pouring each one separately while emptying by siphoning. An additional equipment of the wagon was the brake booth located on the back of the wagon. Due to the susceptibility of the ladle to mechanical damage, these wagons were gradually replaced by newer cisterns whose tanks were made of materials resistant to damage and corrosive substances.

Soon, I should start making a stand that will also be part of the display case and then I will make a gallery with a camera with better parameters, because these were made with a phone and they are not very good. I do not have other photographic documentation from the construction site. The demanding model was not easy to build but somehow it worked out. Gentle wethering and that's how it looks

First off, let me say, WELCOME BACK! It is great seeing you back again!
Secondly, this is an AMAZING piece of art. As always, you have done a PHENOMENAL JOB on this project!!!
If I did not see that it was originally made of paper/cardstock, I would have thought that it was made from from something else. It looks very realistic!!!

That looks great! I'm looking forward to seeing more. :)

One thing I noticed: You wrote "SAÜRE"; acid is "SÄURE" in German. ;)

How did you make all of the brake rigging on the underside? Brake cylinders, control valves, slack adjusters, and all that? Is that all paper? These components are all very similar to what is found on US freight cars even today. Do those parts actually move?

And was this a kit or a model you designed yourself?

This kit was designed and released by Me as a paper model. Some of the brake parts are laser cutted parts in cardboard. Only vats and couplings are printed in 3d resin.
