I have not seen anyplace like you describe here in BC.
Sad how Ont has turned out. I haven't been there for over 20 years now. A chip stand every 5 miles eh? How sad.

Chicago Hot Dog Stand

Here is the hot dog stand I was referring to previously. I happened to have the camera semi ready and snapped a shot while I was heading out of the area on Monday afternoon.
